COTS Testing
If a COTS manufacturer says a particular minimum version of product is required, don’t consider using a lessor version
- If it works today, tomorrow you may use the non-compliant feature of the product
- If use less than manufacturer’s Y2K version, extra retesting is required every product release / modification to detect previously undetected Y2K problems
- There will be no support, upgrades or patches for the non-compliant version when needed it
